DLA

Disability Living Allowance (DLA) is money for children who have extra care needs or mobility needs (difficulty getting around) because of a disability. There are two components, the care component and the mobility component, you may qualify for one or both. Each are assessed individually, and eligibility for one component does not have any bearing on eligibility or not for the other component. A separate scheme called ‘Personal Independence Payments’ operates for those aged over 16 yrs.
